December 12 2016 shirika la utangazaji la Uingereza BBC ndio lilitangaza rasmi mshindi wa tuzo ya mchezaji bora wa Afrika wa BBC kwa mwaka 2016.

Tuzo hiyo ambayo ilikuwa inashindaniwa na Sadio Mane wa Senegal/ Liverpool, Yaya Toure wa Ivory Coast/ Man City, Pierre Aubameyang wa Gabon/Dortmund amefanikiwa kushinda staa wa Algeria anayeichezea Leicester City ya England Riyad Mahrez.
